The Big One

After a call from my dear husband last night that he had killed "The BIG one," I decided to take Sam to deer camp for the day. So after dropping the princess off at Gram's for some special one to one girl time, Sam and I headed off to deer camp. He was SO excited this morning when I told him where we were going and that he got to dress in camo - quite literally head to toe! Here is the least squeamish picture that I could find to post of Sam with his daddy's "Big Buck."

They were having a fish fry for the neighboring camps and so Bill was quickly heralded as the great deer hunter as well as the luckiest guy for getting the monster buck. There were quite a few tall tales told while the dinner was being eaten. Sam loved the french fries and the "ish." He also thought he was tough stuff sitting up in the huge tractor.....the tires are bigger than he is!

He and KD, the sweet dog, wore each other out running around the camp. We took a ride on an RTV and Sam got to see deer tracks as well as some BEAR tracks. He has as much patience sitting in a deer stand as I do......let's just say VERY little!! Being quiet is also a slight issue.

Here is a picture if his silliness when we were getting in the car and getting ready to go. By the time we got to the camp I was SO tired of "How much longer to daddy's camp, mama?" But it was well worth it so see the smiles and hear the laughter of this little boy all day as he hung out with "the guys."

My husband took one look at this and said "Wow! That IS a big buck!" LOL! And he doesn't even hunt! Koodos to Bill!

Congrats to Bill on the monster buck! Love the pics of Sam! Marc is living for the day when he can take Walker and show him deer tracks and everything else that goes along with deer hunting!

So which wall in your house is that massive deer carcass going to hang from? No, really, good for Bill that he's got some bragging rights. From the looks of it, Sam has the makings of a good ole southern boy! Ain't nothin' like 'em!

Pretty soon they will both be off to the deer camp and it will just be the girls at home!
